The Gibson Les Paul is a solid body electric guitar originally developed in the early 1950s. The Les Paul was originally designed by Ted McCarty and endorsed, named and used by then popular jazz/pop guitarist Les Paul. The Les Paul, in all its many variations, is truly a beautiful guitar. The tones are rich and deep as well as edgy and have been the perfect choice for both jazz and rock musicians everywhere.

The Himig ng Bayan recitals are an important part of the festivities in Dumaguete on June 27, giving aspiring musicians the chance to perform in front of an audience of thousands, win P100,000 and rock out with members of The Dawn and Bamboo. Joining is as easy as recording an audition sample, logging on to www.hnb.com.ph and uploading your entries.
However, some aspirants have had trouble getting their audition pieces ready. “A lot of people have been asking us how to record their songs, what software to use,” shares Himig ng Bayan project manager Kyle Krebs. “They’re not sure how to do it, which is why they haven’t been able to upload their files yet.” ! RE: Piano Category! Himig ng Bayan is all about giving musicians the platform to make themselves heard and develop their skills to become extremely talented members of the music industry. The competition focuses on individual musicians, rather than the usual battle of the bands setup, to highlight the artist’s musicality and skills. We have already received several entries from aspiring artists all over the Philippines, all of which promise raw talent that could help them become the next big artist in the local music scene. However, due to the lack of entries that we have received for the piano category, we have decided to remove the category from this year’s Recitals. Piano players are welcome to the HimigngBayan festivities, but as of today, we will no longer be accepting entries for the piano solo. |
